Computers

A million and a half years ago, Spouse had a computer.

It's the computer he had when we met. It was a screaming demon next to the old MAC I had (which had the online capability of checking one's email, and an orange and black screen- no other colors. Like the one below, except no grey scale screen).

It was awesome. Not mine. Spouse's. I could go on AOL. I could see actual websites (all 5 there were to choose from back then. No, this wasn't -that- long ago. A few months after we met, it needed to be fixed, so we took it to a random dude (I think said dude actually built it in the first place, but I don't recall) who talked us into upgrading it.

It had 500 megabytes space on it at the time. Even with games, sound clips, and weird pictures we downloaded off the interwebs, we hadn't filled 500 whole megabytes. We weren't sure we needed an upgrade, but dude talked us into upgrading it to 2 whole gigabytes of space. I remember a discussion we had about it, and how could ANYONE ever FILL that much space? It was mind boggling! Insane, I tell you!

Press play right up there. Seriously.

And now, we were just talking about it today. Hell, I have probably 20 gigabytes of photos alone on my computer. I have 10 gigabytes of music. Spouse has a Terabyte of space (or did, before all the emulators, video games, pictures, and music got put on it).

It just makes me laugh at only having had 500 MB's, and wondering- who the hell NEEDS 2 gigabytes of shit on their computer?!??!
